Lady
Clarisse E. Reed
Above every title I hold, I am a woman who loves God and desires to serve Him faithfully. I count it a privilege to walk alongside my husband in ministry while embracing my greatest calling as a wife, mother, and servant of Christ. My prayer is that every woman I encounter leaves encouraged, strengthened, and reminded of God’s purpose for her life.
My Story
I was born the second of ten children to Pastor Charles Calloway and Lady Louella Calloway. My father’s testimony is one that has always reminded me of God’s power to transform a life. He went from being a drug dealer to answering the call to preach the Gospel, and together my parents raised our family to know and love the Lord.
I was saved and filled with the precious gift of the Holy Ghost in my early teenage years while growing up at St. Paul Church of God in Christ under the leadership of my pastor, Bishop Robert Lee Harris. Early on, Bishop Harris recognized that God had placed something in me and entrusted Mother Marilyn Smith with helping cultivate that calling.
Alongside my mother, Lady Louella Calloway, Mother Smith became one of my greatest spiritual influences. They taught me that ministry is much more than standing behind a pulpit. They taught me how to live a holy life, how to pray, how to intercede for others, and how to faithfully serve God’s people. Through countless hours of personal discipleship, Mother Smith prepared me for missionary work long before I officially entered the Missionary Alliance. She also encouraged me to study God’s Word, develop messages, and walk boldly in the gifts God had placed within me. During those years, I was blessed with many opportunities to preach and minister at St. Paul.
In December 2015, I married the love of my life, Pastor Davontae J. Reed. Together we began a new chapter of ministry at LIFE Church under the faithful leadership of Pastor Anthony and Lady Starks. Their guidance and investment helped strengthen both my personal walk with God and my understanding of ministry alongside my husband.
In 2018, I was officially referred to the Church of God in Christ Missionary Alliance, becoming the youngest missionary in the history of the Michigan Southwest Fifth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction. I was honored to be capped by the National General Supervisor, Mother Barbara McCoo Lewis. That moment represented years of preparation, prayer, and faithful mentorship, and it remains one of the many reminders that God always honors obedience.
Outside of ministry, I have been privileged to serve in the healthcare field for more than a decade. My career has included serving in admissions as a coordinator, hospital liaison, and director, and today I lead the Admissions Department at a skilled nursing facility. Whether serving patients and families or serving the Kingdom of God, my desire has always been the same: to love people well, lead with compassion, and represent Christ with excellence.
One of God’s greatest blessings in my life is my family. My husband and I are the proud parents of two incredible children, Cailsey and Davontae Jr., who continually remind us of God’s goodness and faithfulness.
As First Lady of SHINE Church, my prayer is that every person who walks through our doors experiences the love of Christ, discovers the hope found in His Word, and is encouraged to grow into everything God has called them to be. My desire is to serve with humility, lead with grace, and point people to Jesus in every season of life.
